My Journey
I didn’t dream of being in Sales as a kid, but who does? As someone who spent a lot of my free time writing (and internally critiquing bad grammar), I thought I would be an author. The closest I got was planning tradeshows for a publisher.
It was more important to me to be in an interesting industry (like travel) rather than to have that perfect role. Sales offered a potentially lucrative income-- I had student loans to pay after all. I’m so grateful to have been hired as an Inside Sales rep for a tour operator, which was just the beginning. I found success selling and marketing travel and developing partner relationships too. I quickly learned that sharing stories is a very persuasive tool. While not exactly as I had originally planned, I am a writer of sorts!
How I Work
I am energized by collaboration, yet I sometimes need quiet time to concentrate. Coworkers have described me as persuasive, creative, organized, analytical, and meticulous. Former bosses have praised me for my communication skills and strategic planning ability. I like to consider myself as fun and serious as needed; I have organized team outings and also ensured that meetings stay on point. I gladly offer advice when asked, whether it’s a professional or personal topic. I want to give and receive respect. My goal is to be a positive influence on my team and organization, creating a place where people want to be.
